A video inspection of your chimney's interior with Chim-Scan® offers homeowners and fire inspectors accurate and documentable information. Accurate information is important for making decisions about a chimney. The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) requires companies to do level II inspections when a home is sold or new heating appliances are being installed (per the 211 codes – 2000 edition). Chim-Scan® equipment allows the operator to do level II inspections and document the findings. If you are a homeowner having your chimney swept, ask for a video inspection. Seeing the interior of your chimney will give you added peace-of-mind and a general knowledge of your chimney system. So, ask for it by name: "I want a Chim-Scan® done on my chimney!"
If you are a fire inspector or insurance adjustor, your evaluations should be based on accurate and documentable information. Take the guesswork out of a chimney evaluation by hiring a chimney professional who has the Chim-Scan® video evaluation system.

ChimneySaver
The problem is that all new and existing masonry substrates are susceptible to water damage. Even if they are repaired, they will continue to deteriorate without protection. But serious water damage can be prevented if you address this problem early on. A complete chimney-protection program should include repairing the crown with CrownSeal or CrownCoat, as well as waterproofing the entire chimney with ChimneySaver water repellant.
Superior Technology
ChimneySaver contains patented siloxanes small enough to penetrate most masonry pores up to one-quarter of an inch or more. The special siloxanes form strong bonds with the silica in masonry and concrete. Because of this bonding process, one application of ChimneySaver provides up to ten times the water repellant protection of typical sealers while maintaining the masonry’s breathability.
One Hundred Percent Breathable
Moisture, from a variety of sources, is always present in masonry and concrete. Sealers and silicone coatings form a water-resistant surface film which traps water vapors inside. If these vapors cannot escape, they will contribute to spalling, scaling, deterioration, and freeze-thaw damage. ChimneySaver is 100 percent vapor permeable. It is the water repellant that doesn’t form a film and penetrates and lines masonry pores.
Superior Value!
Protecting your masonry with ChimneySaver affords superior value and an array of benefits. These are obvious when compared to popular retail brands of water sealers.
ChimneySaver and CrackMagik™ Are a Great Combination
When minor defects and larger cracks (up to one-eighth of an inch) cannot be corrected with water repellant alone, use CrackMagik™. If larger-than-hairline cracks exist, CrackMagik™, a breathable elastomeric sealant, can be used in combination with ChimneySaver. Together, these products will seal minor cracks that have developed over the years on chimneys that are otherwise structurally sound.
Deteriorated Crowns Cause Chimney Damage!
A chimney crown is the masonry covering at the top of your chimney. Its purpose is to prevent water from seeping through to the chimney below. When the crown fails, the entire chimney system is susceptible to damage. Visible signs of damage include: cracking of the crown, cracking of the brick, spalling (flaking) of brick, deteriorating mortar joints, and efflorescence (white stains).
